Editor’s Note: This is the second of 12 Q&As with the Red Cliff artists participating in the 7th annual Red Cliff Studio Tour, which happens Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 28-29, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The answers are intended to give tour-goers an inside look at the people and inspirations behind the art work.1. What is your medium and why did you choose it, or did the medium choose you?I have done watercolor and pastel painting but find that only oils give me the color that I crave.

2. What puts you in the mood to be creative?Getting out of bed and opening my eyes to the world.

3. If you could choose anyone, alive or dead, to have dinner with, who would it be and why?Fedor Zakharov d.1994, Russian painter. I would love to hear him talk about his approach to painting and the world as he knew it in Russia. I love his confident stroke and composition. He is a teacher for me as his work is shown at Vail Fine Arts along with my very much alive teacher DonSahli.4. What is the best aspect of having a studio in Red Cliff?

The quiet atmosphere and having so much beautiful subject matter to paint.5. What is your credo or motto for life?Contribute to your community, thank your creator and share the beauty of life.
