Local salon running Earth Month drive

A local salon is part of a nationwide Earth Month drive to collect signatures, money and raise awareness to help endangered species.Salon Axis in the Edwards River Walk is participating in a national drive to collect 275,000 signatures and $1.5 million. Salon Axis’ goal is $2,000. All the money raised nationally will be donated to the Center for Native Ecosystems, a non-profit organization helping conserve native ecosystems in the Rocky Mountains and Great Plains.

The Salon Axis staff has created 10 baskets for a silent auction containing items like professional hair services and Aveda products. The value for the baskets starts at $100.

Johnson honored by RE/MAXBethany Boston Johnson, broker with RE/MAX Vail Valley, Inc., was awarded the 100 Percent Club Award by RE/MAX International. The award was presented by Regional Vice President Adam Contos at the annual Mountain States Awards gala held at the Adam’s Mark Hotel in Denver. Boston Johnson is a graduate of the Realtor Institute and has also earned the CRS and ABR real estate designations. RE/MAX Vail Valley, Inc., is located in Edwards.



Local bankers teaching kids to save

Vail Banks and Weststar Banks are are participating in 10th annual national Teach Children to Save program. Bankers will be headed into classrooms to teach students about the importance of budgeting, saving, making smart spending decisions, spending and basic money management.
