Lost snowmobiler died of hypothermia

EAGLE COUNTY, Colorado ” John McKibben Jr., a lost snowmobiler whose body was found last week, died of hypothermia, Eagle County Coroner Kara Bettis said Tuesday.

McKibben, 50, of Kremmling died Jan. 28 after he and two friends got lost snowmobiling in the wilderness on the border of Eagle and Summit counties. The group had left from Silverthorne.

McKibben’s companions ” Craig Morris, of Naples, Fla., and Murry Melloni, of Littleton ” were found alive just over the border in Eagle County. Morris and Melloni of Littleton were treated for frostbite at Valley View Hospital in Glenwood Springs.
