Daily Staff ReportHere’s a little something from our friends at the Thrifty Shoppe, who are always reminding locals that they’ve got great deals on bunches of different stuff:
Have you ever been browsing through the store, looking for nothing in particular when, all of a sudden, you fall in love at first sight with a beautiful dress? Unbidden, the thought “can I afford this?” flashes through your mind. Of course you can! You’re at the Thrifty Shoppe giving to charity and getting an awesome deal into the bargain. Kailee Young and best friend Whitney, are modeling bridal clothes for the Thrifty Shoppe on Second Street in Eagle. Grudgingly they admit they are both a bit young for marriage right now but not for commitment. They have made a commitment to each other to be each others maids of honor, albeit in 10 years’ time!
Kailee, a volunteer at the Eagle Thrifty Shoppe, was introduced to the deals at the store ($150 for a mint condition wedding dress) by her mother, frequent customer, Terry Young. Young frequently “falls in love at first sight” with bargains throughout the store. “We often put stuff aside for our frequent customers; we know them so well it’s easy to know what they would ‘love at first sight,'”says Cheryl Braucht, store supervisor.
The staff love to meet new customers (especially those in love!) looking for a special something for their special occasion.Stop in on 2nd street and sign up for a frequent customer card before they move to an even bigger and better store on Chambers avenue. The Thrifty Shoppe also has a store in Edwards off Highway 6.
