Lunch & Learn workshops return to Vail on Thursday

VAIL — When it comes to personal health, gathering information and advice from trusted professional sources can mean the difference between living a vibrant life and simply surviving. The medical professionals and industry experts at the Vail Vitality Center at Vail Mountain Lodge have created an affordable, ongoing program to address some of the most common health concerns, enabling attendees to take the first steps toward a better understanding of personal wellness. Lunch & Learn workshops at the Vail Vitality Center are offered in July and August and include a different topic for each session. All sessions include lunch from Terra Bistro. Sessions begin on Thursday.

“Our goal with having an educational lecture series is to increase the overall health knowledge of our community,” said Vail Vitality Center Director Jeff Morgan. “The professionals working in collaboration with the Vail Vitality Center are happy to present valuable information for your lifelong success. We look forward to sharing our knowledge with the Vail Valley.”

The Vail Vitality Center Lunch & Learn schedule is as follows:



Thursday: “Understanding the exact physiological processes required to overcome individual physical limitations” with Dr. Benjamin Stone, exercise physiologist and founder and CEO Sigma Human Performance.

July 16: “F-A-T is not a four-letter word” with Stone and registered dietitian and nutritionist Penny Wilson, Ph.D.

July 23: “Training and nutrition the way it makes a difference in your life,” with Stone.

Aug. 13: “From science to the plate: Food as medicine for long-term health and vitality” with Wilson.

Aug. 27: “You are what you digest” with Julia Clarke, ayurvedic wellness consultant and Vail Vitality Center yoga director.

Cost for the Vail Vitality Center’s Lunch & Learn program is $40 per session or $150 for all five sessions. Registration is required at least 24 hours prior to each session. Lunch & Learn sessions include a topic-based lecture delivered by one or more staff professionals and lunch from Terra Bistro (vegetarian and vegan options available).
