MacLaine to speak via satellite at Vail Chapel

Daily staff report
Vail, CO Colorado

VAIL –On Monday, as part of its adult-education initiative, the B’nai Vail Congregation will present its third and final speaker from the spring series of the Live from N.Y.’s 92nd Street Y program: Shirley MacLaine, Oscar-, Emmy- and Golden Globe-winning actress.

The program will be held from 6 to 7:15 p.m. at the Vail Chapel and will be broadcast in real time, via satellite, which will allow audience members in Vail to submit questions to the speakers in New York. It will be free and open to the public, courtesy of B’nai Vail and the Vail Symposium.

The satellite broadcast series “Live from N.Y.’s 92nd Street Y,” now in its seventh year, offers lectures, interviews and readings from nationally and internationally recognized political figures, entertainers, newsmakers and authors to community organizations across the United States and Canada. It enables subscribers in remote locations to take part in discussions with some of the world’s most influential and fascinating people at their live appearances in New York.

MacLaine has appeared in more than 50 films and has been nominated for an Academy Award six times, winning best actress for “Terms of Endearment.”

The program will start promptly at 6 p.m. and last until about 7:15 p.m., including the question-and-answer session. Attendees are encouraged to arrive by 5:45 to get seated and, during the first half hour of the lecture, may submit questions or comments in writing for B’nai Vail staff to transmit via email to New York.

No reservations are necessary. For further information, call Jeanne Whitney at B’nai Vail at 970-477-2992.
