VAIL, Colorado – Vail Valley Magazine, established in 1993, is one of five finalists for a Maggie Award for the best semi-annual publication with a distribution of under 75,000.

The magazine’s creative team, including Brent and Barbara Bingham, Joette Gilbert, Brenda Himelfarb, Chris Mitchell, Ken Nager and publisher Pete Vandenberg were the driving force behind the nomination.

“It’s an honor to have been nominated, because it shows that we are on the right track,” says Joette Gilbert, marketing director. “We want be the valley’s magazine – the one that everyone from tourists, to second homeowners to locals – want to read. We owe a lot to our writers, as well.”

The Maggies were established 58 years ago by the Western Publishing Association to “award companies whose work is deemed the Best of the West.”

The winner will be announced on April 27 in Los Angeles.
