Man accidentally beats up friend in Avon

AVON, Colorado – A man accidentally punched his good friend and roommate in the face after mistaking the him for others who attacked his girlfriend in Avon, Colorado.
The girlfriend and the two men had been drinking at an Avon bar when the woman, 24, decided to walk home because she had to work early the next morning, according to police reports. The woman headed home around 1 a.m., walking on the train tracks, when three men behind her started harassing her and yelling sexually aggressive comments. The woman kneed one of the three men and ran away.
She called her boyfriend and his friend/roommate and told them she needed help, according to the report. As the friend/roommate leaned over the woman to see if she was OK, the boyfriend thought he was one of the men who had harassed her so he attacked him. He realized he was beating up the wrong person and took off to look for the three men, the report said.
Nobody was arrested and police have not found the three men who reportedly harassed the woman.
