Man accused in Colo. school shooting in court
GOLDEN, Colo. – The man suspected of shooting and wounding two Colorado eighth-graders just after the school day ended is due in court for an arraignment.
Bruco (BROO’-so) Stong Eagle Eastwood is scheduled to appear before a judge Tuesday.
He faces several charges, including attempted murder, for the Feb. 23 shootings outside Deer Creek Middle School.
Teachers tackled and restrained Eastwood until deputies arrived.
Prosecutors say the 32-year-old told investigators he woke up feeling angry, violent and “transformed upon” the day we went to his former middle school outside Littleton with a hunting rifle. Authorities say Eastwood told investigators he approached a group of students and asked them if they liked going to their school before shooting.
