Man allegedly knees deputy in groin
Eagle County, CO Colorado
EAGLE COUNTY, Colorado – Witnesses reported intoxicated 24-year-old man was in the street, screaming at his mom, at around 8:30 p.m. Dec. 18.
An officer arrived and the man yelled at him in Spanish while taking off his jackets and posturing for a fight. The officer pulled out his Taser to keep the man at bay until another deputy arrived. The suspect briefly lowered his hands and the officers managed to muscle him to the ground and handcuff him.
Not wanting to leave him lying shirtless on the cold ground while they sorted things out, the policemen walked the man to the back of a patrol car. The man turned around as he was getting in and kneed one of the officers at least three times in the groin.
Deputies pulled the man out of the car and put him back on the ground, placing a “spit hood” over his head.
The officer sustained an abrasion on the right knee and “pain in the groin area.”
