Man continues quest to depose Dick Cheney
DENVER, Colorado” A man suing the Secret Service for his arrest for an alleged assault on the vice president has renewed his attempt to subpoena Dick Cheney so he can tell a judge what happened.
Steven Howards says the Secret Service agents wrongfully arrested him two years ago for walking up to Cheney at a mall and telling him his policies in Iraq were “disgusting.”
A judge ruled against Howards’ motion to subpoena Cheney in April. Howards’ attorney David Lane says in his motion Monday the federal judge told them they could renew their request if they obtained additional evidence from other sources.
Lane says Cheney is “the best eyewitness to the case.”
Cheney spokeswoman Lea Foster says she can’t comment on pending litigation.
