Man dies in Eagle crash

EAGLE, Colorado – An Eagle man died in a one-vehicle truck crash Friday morning near Eagle.

Christopher Lott, 43, was traveling eastbound on Highway 6 in a 2009 Dodge Ram pickup when the truck failed to negotiate a slight left-hand curve about one mile east of Eagle, according to the Colorado State Patrol.

The truck drove off the right side of the road, rolled and collided with a tree, officials said. The pickup continued to roll multiple times down an embankment and came to a stop on its wheels facing southwest, according to police. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation. The driver was wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash, police said..

The Colorado State Patrol was assisted by the Eagle Fire, Western Eagle County Ambulance District, Eagle Police Department, and Eagle County Sheriff’s Office, Mesa County Coroner’s Office, and Big Steve’s Towing.
