Man dies in pass crash
A California man died Saturday after the pickup truck he was riding in lost control and rolled on westbound Interstate 70 west of Vail Pass.Rogelio Palomares, 33, of Sylmar, Calif., was ejected from the truck and died at the scene, State Patrol said. He was not wearing a seatbelt, officials said.The accident occurred at 4 a.m. Saturday about four miles west of Vail Pass when the driver of the truck, Jose A. Flores-Torres, 20, lost control of his vehicle on the snow-covered road and skidded off the right side, State Patrol said. The vehicle struck a snowbank and rolled 234 times.Three other passengers in the truck sustained minor injuries.Flores-Torres was arrested at the scene and transported to the Eagle County Jail, where he faces charges related to the crash.Vail, Colorado
