Man suspected in cocaine sale

EAGLE-VAIL, Colorado ” An Eagle-Vail man was arrested Thursday after agreeing to sell cocaine to an undercover detective, the Eagle County Sheriff’s Office said.

Investigators received a tip that Manuel “Manny” Javier Hidalgo, 27, was selling cocaine, the Eagle County Sheriff’s Office said.

Hidalgo was contacted by the undercover detective and agree to sell the officer cocaine, the Eagle County Sheriff’s Office said.



While Hidalgo and the detective were exchanging money, a team comprising the Eagle County Drug Taskforce and Vail and Avon police officers moved in to arrest Hidalgo.

Hidalgo tried to run away, but after a quarter-mile pursuit with officers on foot and in police cruisers, the suspect was taken into custody in the parking lot of Sundown Condominiums, the Eagle County Sheriff’s Office said.

Hidalgo was taken to the Eagle County Detention Facility and is being held on a $50,000 bond.
