AVON – A local man is being sought on suspicion he dragged his ex-girlfriend down to the bank of the Eagle River in Avon on Friday before being startled by police sirens, authorities said.Edgar Olvera, 26, a five-year Vail Valley resident, is wanted on kidnapping, domestic violence and harassment charges in connection with the alleged incident, said Avon Police Sgt. Steve Hodges. The Eagle County Sheriff’s Office has also issued a warrant for Olvera’s arrest stemming from an earlier incident, Hodges said.According to reports, a resident on his balcony called police and told them he had seen Olvera’s 30-year-old ex-girlfriend, who was not identified, walking home after picking up her 5-year-old daughter from day care when a man, who had been hiding in some bushes, jumped out and grabbed the woman. Police responded to the scene, where the assailant had forced the woman down a hill to the edge of the river and released her, Hodges said.”Sirens kind of spooked (the man), and he ran off,” Hodges said.Olvera is 5-foot-9 and 170 pounds with black hair, brown eyes and a scar on his forehead, and his last known residence is in Avon, Hodges said.”If somebody knows him or sees him and recognizes him, a 911 call is in order,” Hodges said.Vail, Colorado
