Man warned not to retaliate in Eagle
Vail, CO Colorado
EAGLE, Colorado – During the evening of March 13, Eagle Police responded to a call of an intoxicated man on the street between Third Street and Broadway.
When the officer arrived, he spotted the bouncer of a nearby bar pulling a man away from the establishment. The officer detected the strong odor of alcohol emanating form the man.
The bouncer said the man was thrown out of the bar after hitting another patron. The suspect reportedly became angry when another bar patron touched a woman on the shoulder. The woman was reportedly the suspect’s fiancee.
When he spoke with the victim, the man said he did not want to press charges and planned to handle the issue himself. The officer warned him that if he was to retaliate at a later time, he might face assault charges. The victim said he planned to forget about the incident.
The suspect and his fiancee were still outside, reeling, when the officer returned. Because they were walking down the middle of the street, the officer called a sober party to take the man home. The fiancee caught a ride home with friends.
