VAIL – Finalists for the 2007 Vail Mardi Gras King and Queen contest have been announced. You can vote online for your favorite candidate at http://www.vaildaily.com/section/news.Voting will continue through Fat Tuesday, Feb. 20, ending at noon. The pair receiving the most votes will be crowned as the official 2007 Mardi Gras King/Queen immediately following the Fat Tuesday parade, also on Feb. 20.

The parade starts at 5:30 p.m. at International Bridge in Vail Village, ending at Seibert Circle. All King/Queen pairs will be paraded in Hummers, courtesy of Lakota Guides. The winning couple each will receive a 2007-2008 restricted Vail Resorts ski pass. Following are the 2007 Mardi Gras King/Queen finalists: Couple No. 1:Mike Yerigan, conference sales manager with the Vail Valley Partnership, and Trish Capello, director of agency development of Untraditional Marketing.

Couple No. 2:S.A.M., the Speed Awareness Mannequin for Town of Vail Police Department, and Tricia Swenson, executive producer/host of Vail Resorts’ TV8. Couple No. 3:



Ken Hoeve of Vail Resorts’ TV8 and Kelley Brupbacher (A Louisiana native), Vail International Dance Festival Manager.2006 Mardi Gras King and Queen, Mark Bricklin and Cassie Pence, will hand over their reigns.Vail Mardi Gras begins on Sunday and the three-day festival culminates Tuesday.
