Marketing firm’s Boulder bus messages turns heads
BOULDER, Colorado ” With gas prices rising, it may not be surprising that marketing firm Crispin Porter + Bogusky provides bus service to take employees to its office in Boulder County.
It’s the look of the bus that stands out.
The bus has gray and black lines, fake bullet holes and “Disruptive Thinker Transport” written across the front.
“It’s designed to look like a prison bus,” said Alex Bogusky, co-chairman of the Miami-based company. “I didn’t want it to look like regular public transportation.”
Some curious passers-by have called police asking about the bus.
“People stop and stare out their windows,” driver Beth Tait said. “At least two people a day ask about the bus. They take pictures, too.”
Art director Tim Blount, 26, said the service saves him money on gas and takes him directly to his doorstep at night. The fact that it references prison doesn’t faze him.
“We get a lot of looks,” Blount said. “I think that’s the point.”
The company has plans to expand the service to include weekend trips to the mountains for employees.
