Maroon Bells parking lot closed on Labor Day weekend
GLENWOOD SPRINGS – Due to the lack of parking at Maroon Lake in the Maroon Bells Wilderness Area of the White River National Forest, Maroon Creek Road will be restricted to motorized vehicles for the Labor Day weekend from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Personal vehicles will only be allowed on the road before and after these hours.
On Tuesday, September 5, the road will be open to personal vehicles and remain open until Friday at 9 a.m. During the month of September, Maroon Creek Road will be open to personal vehicles Monday through Thursday.
The road will close Fridays at 9 a.m. for the weekend. The road will re-open to cars on Sundays at 5 p.m.
Bus tours leaving from the Aspen Highlands Village Parking Lot will take visitors to the Maroon Bells on Maroon Creek Road throughout September.
Shuttle fees are $6/adults, $3/children and seniors. The road is open to all non-motorized forms of transportation at no charge.
