Matt Gennett: No such thing as Camelot in America, Eagle County

Mr. Butler did not get through the first five words of his letter without a dis-concerting and ironic distortion of the truth which must be corrected: England did not “have its Camelot, an age of principle,” unless one believes in fairy tales; and, America does have a very real Constitution of the United states of America.
The latter of the two has been verita bly flushed down the toilet by our cur rent administration, and the former was referenced for the first time in a poem dating back to the 1170s, written by Chreeien de Troyes, titled “Lancelot, the Knight of the Cart.”
To compare the fictional Court of King Arthur to our own Constitution would be most offensive if it made any sense whatsoever.
For his own sake, and that of America, Mr. Butler may wish to return to ele-mentary school and retake world history prior to voting. As for the irony, it should be obvious.
