DENVER, Colorado “-Sen. John McCain will try to woo women voters at a town hall meeting in Denver today, as his running mate Gov. Sarah Palin prepares for tonight’s much-anticipated debate with Sen. Joe Biden.

Palin’s popularity has been dropping in the polls since the Republican National Convention. McCain is expected to talk her up during the “women’s town hall” at the Sheraton Grand Hotel, and tell women voters it is the McCain/Palin ticket ” not Sen. Barack Obama and Biden ” who will do the most for them.

McCain is trying to attract voters who may have supported Sen. Hillary Clinton in the Democratic primary, or those who were disappointed that Obama didn’t choose Clinton as his running mate.

Doors open at 2:30 p.m. for today’s event, which is scheduled to begin at 4:15 p.m.

McCain will arrive in Denver fresh off his vote in the Senate Wednesday night for a $700 billion economic bailout package. Obama and Biden also voted in favor of the package.

McCain goes to Pueblo Friday for a town hall meeting scheduled for 11 a.m. The doors open at 9 a.m.

Tickets are free but will be required for getting into both events. For the Denver meeting, call 303-952-4670. For the Pueblo event, call 719-543-1725.
