Medical pot moratorium approved in Mesa County
GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – Mesa County approved a yearlong moratorium on medical marijuana dispensaries while officials figure out how to regulate the industry.
Mesa County commissioners approved the moratorium Monday and say they want to see what the state Legislature does about the issue. The moratorium is effective immediately and applies to unincorporated areas of the county. Existing business are not affected.
Towns in Mesa County, including Grand Junction and Palisade, also have approved moratoriums.
