EAGLE-VAIL — Interested in meditation but not sure where to start? Would you like to learn with the support of a group? Karen Anderson and Revolution Power Yoga will offer a four-week series titled Meditation 101 this month.
The course will start from the beginning: teaching what meditation is, what its benefits are and how you might go about having a regular practice. Anderson will look at mindfulness practice, including common meditation misconceptions and pitfalls, as well as tips and tricks for an enjoyable practice. Students are encouraged to ask questions.
Classes will be held at Revolution Power Yoga in Eagle-Vail from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, and continues Feb. 13, 20 and 27. The price for the series is $50, no experience is necessary and chairs will be available, if needed.
Anderson has been teaching yoga in Vail since 1999 and has completed nine 30-day silent meditation retreats. Her training in meditation is primarily in the Indo-Tibetan tradition. Noah Levine certified Anderson to teach meditation in the lineage of Jack Kornfield and the Thai forest tradition. For more information visit http://www.yogavail.com.
