Meet an artist
The public can meet artist Bradley Chance Hays painting live inside the library of The Sebastian hotel in Vail through Wednesday. Hays’ visit is made possible by Vail Fine Art Gallery.
Hays comes from from Saratoga Springs, New York, where he’s been painting and working alongside some of the world’s elite racehorses, while ranking high in the professional rodeo circuit in the Eastern Seaboard region.
Hays sustained major injuries in a ranching accident in May. Within two weeks, though, he had packed up his horses and working ranch dogs in Oklahoma, and arrived in New York.
Full of inspiration from the racetrack, and anxious to return to the West, Hays, along with gallery owner James Tylich, will be on hand at The Sebastian, to show you his original artworks.
Guests can enjoy a drink with the artist at Frost, or plan a dinner at Leonora, and choose your favorite painting from his collection.
Hays will be at the Sebastian from 4 to 8 p.m. through Wednesday. Stop in to say howdy!
Paul Cuthbertson set out by himself around 3 p.m. Friday from the trailhead that leads up to the Polar Star Inn, according to his father, Mike, but never made it to the popular backcountry hut as a late-spring snowstorm moved in.
