Memorial benefit for Gypsum’s Reiter is Saturday

Daily staff report
Vail, CO Colorado

GYPSUM, Colorado – A benefit will be held Saturday in memory of Robert Scott Reiter, of Gypsum, who died earlier this year.

The “Scott Jam” is from 4-9 p.m. at Beau Jo’s Buffalo Valley Inn in Glenwood Springs and will feature the music of Mystic Roots. Admission is $15.

All proceeds go to the R. Scott Reiter Memorial Fund. A third-year raft guide, Reiter dreamed of being a teacher before he lost his life in a rafting accident.

Reiter’s family hopes to raise money to send “another bright, young student to college to be the teacher that Scotty won’t have the chance to be.”

There will also be a silent auction at the event. The family is still looking for donated items for the auction.
