GREELEY, Colo. – A public memorial is planned Tuesday for a 12-year-old girl whose decomposed body was recovered last week, seven weeks after she was reported missing.
Kayleah Wilson’s memorial will be at 2 p.m. at the Clarion Hotel and Conference Center in Greeley.
Wilson was a sixth-grader at Brentwood Middle School. Her mother reported her missing March 28 after she failed to arrive at a birthday party across a busy highway from her apartment.
Her body was found last week in an irrigation ditch about a half mile from her house.
Police haven’t named a suspect in her slaying. An 18-year-old man faces unrelated charges of felony sexual abuse on a child, pattern of abuse, for allegedly having had a sexual relationship with Kayleah.
