Menconi receives state recognition
EAGLE COUNTY Eagle County Commissioner Arn Menconi and Colorado Speaker of the House Andrew Romanoff were recognized by the states Early Childhood and School Readiness Commission for their leadership in championing early childhood issues.Menconi was recognized for his work as vice-chairperson of the Colorado Counties, Inc. Health & Human Services Committee (CCI-HHS). He also serves as chairperson of the CCI-HHS early childhood task force. As chairperson Menconi has been instrumental in forging partnerships with other statewide early childhood groups, including the School Readiness Commission, to assist in development of legislation, request and secure funding, and raise awareness on a county and statewide basis. Menconi continues to work with Speaker Romanoff and the state Joint Budget Committee on a three-to-five year plan for an outcomes based early childhood system of services.The Early Childhood and School Readiness Commission works with state and local departments that oversee the welfare, care and education of Colorados children. The commission develops local and state-coordinated systems that improve school readiness, quality and delivery of early childhood care and education.
