Metcalf Road meeting set for Thursday

Daily Staff Report

AVON – Drivers continue to complain about truck loading and delivery activities at businesses along Metcalf and Nottingham roads. Drivers appear to be most frustrated about having to stop to avoid trucks turning, backing or parking on or near the street, Avon Police Chief Jeff Layman said. Nearly 30 Avon residents, merchants and transport service representatives, along with several town of Avon staff members, attended a community meeting last month to propose many solutions. Layman along with senior town of Avon staff members Norm Wood, Bob Reed and Tambi Katieb and Jeff Layman have evaluated the ideas, which have been divided into short-term and long-term solutions. The ideas will be discussed at a community meeting at 5:15 p.m., Thursday at the Avon Council Chambers in Town Hall, 400 Benchmark Road. Call 748-4040 for more information. Vail, Colorado
