Michael George Schlicht, of Avon, died Saturday
Michael George Schlicht, 52, of Avon, passed into eternal life Saturday.
Michael is survived by his mother, Bernadine Schlicht; his sister, Jo Wessels; brother-in-law Bob Wessels; nephews Chris and Patrick Wessels; niece Bobbie Collins and her husband, Chris Collins; Michael’s much-loved great-niece Anna Collins; and Michael’s best friend and soul mate, Sandy Buckholtz. Michael was preceded in death by his father, George Joseph Schlicht.
On Thursday at the Archdiocese of Denver Mortuary at Mount Olivet Cemetery, rosary will be at 11:30 a.m., followed by a viewing at 11:45 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be at noon, immediately followed by graveside interment.
Michael’s legacy will be honored through donations to Donor Alliance in Denver.
A celebration of “Foot’s” life will be held on June 27 in his beloved Vail Valley.
Snow usually comes and goes in this part of the state. A forecasted storm is expected to stick around for a while. Forecasters are calling for snow to persist throughout the weekend in the high country, with a prospect of a couple of feet of powder by the time the storm starts to diminish on Monday.
