Mikaela Shiffrin, The Mother Hips, more slated for Apres Avon events

AVON — The town of Avon today released the final details for Apres Avon, a daily music and street fair held every afternoon from 2 to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday through Feb. 14. Avon’s Main Street Mall will be the site for live music, performance art, food, craft brews and cocktails. A special guest tent will host renowned artists, authors, ski racing legends and on Feb. 6, an autograph signing with Olympic gold medalist and Vail Valley native Mikaela Shiffrin. All Apres Avon events are free and open to the public.

The video stadium at Apres Avon will feature live stream or replays of the day’s ski races, along with special programming and vintage ski footage each day. Hot and cold breakfast items and drinks will also be available. The video stadium and breakfast service gets underway at 9 a.m.

Beginning at 2 p.m., a variety of soups, sandwiches, crepes and desserts will be available along with items for purchase from local vendors in the apres shop winter market. Visitors to the market are eligible to win one of five 2015 Pin of the Day Collectors Sets, awarded at the completion of the series. Additionally, a limited number of each day’s unique 2015 pins of the day will be given away at each Apres Avon event.

Apres Avon musical and special guest schedule:

Tuesday — Concert: Town Cavalry (rock). Special guest: Elyssa Pallai, author of “Eli & Mort’s Epic Adventures, Beaver Creek,” and Mort the Moose in person.

Wednesday — Concert: The Travelin’ McCourys (bluegrass). Special guests: Ski hall of fame members and ski legends.

Feb. 5 — Concert: J2G Live’s Love Shack by Fox Street & Friends (’80s and ’90s hits). Special guests: Jennie Iverson, author of bestselling cookbooks “Ski Town — Apres Ski” and “Ski Town Soups,” and the official Vail 2015 cheerleaders (4:30 to 5:30 p.m.).

Feb. 6 — Concert: Euforquestra featuring Kevin Kinsella (funk/reggae). Special guest: Autograph signing by Olympic gold medalist Mikaela Shiffrin (4 to 5:30 p.m.).

Feb. 7 — Concert: The Mother Hips with special guest Nicki Bluhm (California soul/rock). Special guests: Ski hall of fame members and ski legends plus the official mascots for the 2015 Alpine World Ski Championships (3 to 4 p.m.).

Feb. 8 — Concert: Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad with Tatanka (reggae). Special guests: Dawn Beacon, commemorative 2015 poster artist; and the official Vail 2015 cheerleaders (2 to 3 p.m.).

Feb. 9 — Concert: Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad with Tatanka (Reggae). Special guest: Jennie Iverson, author of bestselling cookbooks “Ski Town — Apres Ski” and “Ski Town Soups.”

Feb. 10 — Concert: The Motet (funk).

Feb. 11 — Concert: John Denver Tribute by the John Adams Band. Special Guest: Elyssa Pallai, author of “Eli & Mort’s Epic Adventures, Beaver Creek,” and Mort the Moose in person.

Feb. 12 —Concert: Hell’s Belles (All-female ACDC tribute). Special guests: Christy Rost, featured PBS chef and author, and official Vail 2015 cheerleaders (2:30 to 4 p.m.).

Feb. 13 — Concert: Brothers Keeper featuring John Popper (rockin’ blues). Special guests: Christy Rost, featured PBS chef and author, and the official mascots from the 2015 Alpine World Ski Championships (2:30 to 4 p.m.).

Feb. 14 — Concert: Bonfire Dub and The Congress (rock and reggae). Special guests: Dawn Beacon, 2015 poster artist, and the official Vail 2015 cheerleaders (3:30 to 4:30 p.m.).

The town of Avon is also hosting the daily Audi Driving Experience at Nottingham Park, just steps away from the Apres Avon venue. Under the professional guidance of Audi instructors, drivers will participate in two unique drive activities to test their winter driving techniques.

Free buses between Vail, Beaver Creek and Avon will run throughout the 2015 Alpine World Ski Championships and skier and spectator race parking is available at the Rodeo Lot in East Avon. Limited parking for Apres Avon is available on Lake Street, West Beaver Creek Boulevard and at the Avon Recreation Center.
