Miller Ranch receives housing award

VAIL VALLEY, Colorado –Miller Ranch in Edwards has won an award for workforce housing from a renowned national land use research organization.

The award from the Urban Land Institute Terwilliger Center for Workforce Housing said the award recognizes Miler Ranch’s design, construction, market acceptance and impact, effectiveness of deed restrictions, and Eagle County’s management of home sales through The Valley Home Store.

County Manager Keith Montag, who was the county’s community development director at the time the project was conceived and constructed, said the project was one of the most rewarding of his tenure.

“While a complex and at times difficult process, the development of Miller Ranch has yielded some of the most desirable workforce housing in the area,” said Montag. “We’re proud to have brought one of the first examples of ‘New Urbanism’ to the county.”
