Mini Music Makers back in Minturn
Vail, CO Colorado
Last summer, kids of all ages learned how to make a drum from wax paper and tubing, sang along with a local musician and even created their own song as a group. Minturn Music is once again hosting this six-part series, which will feature local musicians who will lead kids (and parents too!) in an interactive, musical experience. The series starts Tuesday and will run every other Tuesday through Aug. 21. The event takes place at Minturn Music, 122 Main Street, at 10 a.m.
“It’s a fun way for local musicians to use their craft to inspire kids,” said Shawn McKeown, owner of Minturn Music. “Our built-in stage in the store gives us the perfect space to entertain and teach.”
In addition to the Mini Music Makers series, Minturn Music has hosted other unique events such as musician workshops, community jam-sessions and concerts.
“We have quite a diverse set of musicians lined up,” said McKeown. “They are all accomplished musicians that range from pianists to saxophonists to guitarists.”
For a free, fun musical experience with your children, come down to Minturn Music. The group will be led in song and beats. Music and refreshments will be provided by the Minturn Community Fund. All ages are welcome – if you’re up for following along with claps and hums and shakes and drums.
Founded in June 2002, the Minturn Community Fund (MCF) is a nonprofit organization. Its purpose is to provide diverse cultural, educational, entertainment and community-building events in Minturn and provide financial assistance to projects initiated by local Minturn organizations or citizen groups that benefit the town.
