Minturn hosts holiday weekend events
Vail, CO Colorado
MINTURN, Colorado – The town of Minturn is holding its Fourth of July holiday activities on Saturday, beginning with a Bubble-a-Thon in the parking lot of the Turntable Restaurant at 11:30 a.m.
Children should bring their own bubbles, and there will be prize giveaways as well.
The holiday parade begins at 2 p.m. The parade route will begin at the south end of town at the U.S. Forest Service property and proceed north to Cemetery Road (700 block of Main Street), where the parade will turn and ultimately end at Little Beach Park.
The town encourages children to decorate their bikes and come out to be part of the parade. If you would like to participate in the parade, gather at the U.S. Forest Service compound at the south end of Town at 1 p.m. To enter the parade or to obtain more information on the parade, call 970-390-0091.
There will be traffic delays from the U.S. Forest Service compound at the south end of town to the 600 block of Main Street in Minturn from 2 p.m. to approximately 2:45 p.m. Saturday. Plan your trip through town to accommodate the expected traffic delay.
After the parade, there will be a community picnic and live music at Little Beach Park that begins at 3 p.m. The picnic is a potluck event provided by the citizens of Minturn and various generous donors. There will be hot dogs, corn on the cob, lemonade and other summertime goodies as well as great local music.
The weekly Minturn Market will also be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. There are 115 vendors at the market this summer.
