Minturn open space cleanup is Saturday
MINTURN — Minturn is hosting an open space cleanup day Saturday.
The event will take place at the Boneyard property located at 1351 U.S. Highway 24 in Minturn beginning at 10 a.m. Mayor Hawkeye Flaherty and the Minturn Town Council invite you to participate in this event. Be sure to dress appropriately and bring work gloves.
In addition, while supplies last, residents are permitted to take wood. There were 55 trees cut down because they were dead and the town did not want to risk them falling down. As a result, the town is offering this wood to residents, free of charge. If you are interested in the wood, you will need to bring equipment to cut it down to size and to haul it away. The town is also requesting that, if you do cut the trees to take, you make a pile of the branches so staff can easily collect them to place them in a wood chipper.
After the cleanup, the town of Minturn will provide lunch to all participants.
