Minturn seeks Downtown Development Authority board members

Minturn is currently seeking members to join the Minturn Downtown Development Authority Board of Directors. Board members must be property owners, employees or agents of a business, business lessees, or residents within the designated boundaries of the district. 

The Minturn DDA was approved by voters within the district boundaries in a November special election.  The DDA has now been officially established and the next step is to create the board. The responsibilities of the board will include:

  • Establishing goals to include the DDA’s vision, mission and objectives
  • Developing and Implementing a Downtown Plan
  • Guiding investments/projects to ensure the area’s economic vitality and character
  • Guiding the DDA’s strategic goals and priorities
  • Overseeing/managing district projects
  • Holding regular meetings
  • Electing board officers


Board members will work closely with town staff and council to establish a downtown plan outlining the DDA’s goals. This will be the primary focus for the first year of the DDA. The frequency of board meetings has not yet been determined, but will likely be quarterly on average. Meetings may be more frequent in the beginning while goals and governing documents are being established.

The application period is open through Feb. 14, 2025. Following the application period, submissions will be reviewed and appointments made by the Town Council. Council review/appointment dates are to be announced.
