Minturn-to-Leadville project adds Saturday work
MINTURN, Colorado – The Colorado Department of Transportation and contractor United Companies continue a highway chip-seal project on U.S. Highway 24 between Minturn and Leadville.
The project began on Aug. 18. Saturday work hours have been added due to recent inclement weather.
The work zone begins just south of Minturn at mile point 147.18 and continues south towards Leadville, ending at mile point 169. The work was contracted to United Companies for $949,450.
Through the project’s completion on Sept. 1, the following is the anticipated schedule:
Aug. 18-26: Application of oil and rock on roadway.

Aug. 27-30: Application sealant for newly resurfaced pavement
Sept. 1: Final striping
Motorists in both directions will encounter single-lane, alternating traffic directed with a pilot car; delays of up to 20 minutes should be expected during daylight hours, Monday through Saturday.
