Minturn town cleanup set for June 4

MINTURN — Town staff and volunteers are gathering Saturday at Little Beach Park for the annual town cleanup, and this year, residents may dispose of appliances, debris and undesired items at a convenient receptacle in the park.

Get on Pickup list

Automotive batteries and refrigerators with Freon will be accepted with no fee, and Crave Community Co. will be assisting seniors with items for pickup and delivery to Little Beach Park. (Call 970-827-5645 ext. 111 to get on the pickup list.)



Items Not Accepted

Items not accepted include, but are not limited to: paint; rocks and dirt; commercial construction materials; hazardous waste; flammable items; televisions; and oil of any kind.

All volunteers for the cleanup must sign in and will meet at the Little Beach Park upper parking lot at 9 a.m. on Saturday. Once signed in and outfitted with necessary gear, each volunteer will be assigned a specific area to work for litter pickup.

Eco-friendly bags

In lieu of standard orange garbage bags, Land Title and Vail Mountain Coffee Roasters have donated eco-friendly bags this year that biodegrate exponentially faster than the plastic bags.
