Minturn’s Halloween celebration set for Wednesday from 4-8 p.m.

The staff and children from Pooh Corner stopped by Minturn Town Hall to say hello in this 2011 file photo. Minturn's annual trick-or-treat trot is set for tonight from 4 to 8 p.m.

The town of Minturn welcomes residents and visitors to join us for an evening of fun and laughter Wednesday in Minturn. Children of all ages are welcome to participate in Trick-or-Treat Night, celebrated in Minturn from 4-8 p.m.

To participate in the family friendly festivities, town of Minturn staff will hand out candy in front of the Town Hall Building located at 302 Pine Street in Minturn. Everyone is encouraged to stop by Town Hall to show off your costume and to receive some delicious treats.

New this year, the town will host the Vail Valley Medical Center’s (VVMC) Mobile Simulation Lab RV. The Simulation Lab will be set up by Town Hall on the Pine Street side of the building from 4 to 8 p.m. VVMC has transformed its Mobile Simulation Lab RV into Monster’s University for Halloween. The state-of-the-art medical training tool will welcome trick-or-treaters inside to take their best shot at scaring their manikin, with a “scare-o-meter” judging their “scariness.” The “scare-o-meter,” as seen in Monster’s University, will also be accompanied by lots of fun and candy.

Officers from the Minturn Police Department and Firefighters from the Eagle River Fire Protection District (ERFPD) will be stationed around Minturn. The Police Department and the ERFPD will be present to help ensure that children and their families are able to safely cross the streets as they seek out Halloween treats and fun. In addition, the police department requests anyone driving through Town to drive slowly and cautiously as to protect our treasured trick-or-treaters. Also, the police department requests that each child wear reflective tape or carry light sticks in order to be illuminated to make it easier for those driving vehicles to spot the children.
