Boneyard Trail ready for action On June 26, a group of 45 adults and children plus two dogs worked together to complete "The Boneyard" trail on Bureau of Land Management land adjacent to the town of Eagle. The newest section completes what can now be biked, run or walked as an 8-mile loop or series of loops, and is accessed from Bluffs Drive or Kaibab Drive on the east side of Eagle (see Eagle County's Web site at www.ecoSports.com, for more information. The trail work day was the final in a series of work days cooperatively organized over the last three years by the ECO Trails Backcountry Committee, Bureau of Land Management and Mountain Pedaler. Sponsors of this latest event also included Vail Resorts, the International Mountain Biking Association, REI and Clif Bar. Thanks to all who attended for their tenacious hard work that day - you got it done!

Jane Imber of Wolcott is trying to be a good Samaritan. Imber and her husband recently found a digital camera in the parking lot by the theater at Riverwalk. The camera was turned it in at the Eagle County Sheriff’s substation at Edwards, so if someone lost a camera, give the guys at the substation a call at 926-9330.

Helping handsThe Vail Bible Church is helping a member in need with a big ol’ garage sale.Congregation member Celeste Lundberg is facing some pretty steep medical bills, so the church is helping out. The sale is set for July 16 at the church along Highway 6 in Eagle-Vail. To donate items, or to learn more, call 926-0639.

Pond full of funThe annual Gypsum Daze festivities always start with a kids’ fishing derby. This year’s derby is set for Friday, July 15. Registration starts at 4:30 p.m. and fishing stops at 6:15 p.m. There will be prizes for the biggest, smallest and ugliest fish caught, and some sort of prize for every kid who enters.



Fisherkids and their parents should park in designated parking, then walk in to the second pond. There will be no parking along the road. The derby is sponsored by Brightwater Club and the Eagle Valley Chamber of Commerce. For more information, call Stephanie at 328-5220.Vail, Colorado
