GOLDEN, Colorado ” A Boulder, Colorado architect who had been reported missing in early February has been found dead inside his crashed car in Jefferson County.

The Colorado State Patrol says 58-year-old Gregory Franta was southbound on state Highway 93 when his Honda Civic went off the side of the road. Authorities believe Franta tried to steer back onto the road before the car rolled down an embankment, hit several trees and came to rest on its top.

Patrol spokesman Ryan Sullivan says Franta was wearing a seatbelt but sustained fatal injuries.

The crash was discovered Tuesday. It wasn’t immediately clear when it occurred.

Franta was last seen early Feb. 9 after having dinner with a family member in Denver the night before.

His family filed a missing-person report Feb. 10.
