Missing Colorado campers found in Park County

Summit Daily News staff report

A couple of campers who went missing Thursday night in Park County were found early Friday afternoon amid snowy conditions.

Four rescuers were dispatched to Tarryall Road near Box Canyon at about 11 a.m. to assist rescuers in Park County, said Summit County Rescue Group spokeswoman Anna DeBattiste.

“It was the same place we responded to mutual aid last year for the missing soldier (and his girlfriend) from Fort Carson,” she said. “So it’s apparently a spot where people get lost.”

The Summit County rescuers were en route to assist for two hours, but turned around when the campers were found and the search was called off.
