Two men lost overnight were found safe in a car near Piceance Creek in Garfield County today.

Robert Harvey and Jim Landrum were last seen at a gas rig called Neighbors Rig Number 109 early on Christmas evening, Garfield County Sheriff spokeswoman Tannis McGinnis said.

Sheriff’s deputies received anxious calls from friends and family at about 9:20 Christmas night. “We got conflicting reports about the vehicles they were in,” she said.

Deputies from Garfield and Rio Blanco counties searched for the men past midnight.

Then at 2 this morning, officers paged the Garfield County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue team.

Bad weather hampered the search, but it resumed in full force about 7:30 this morning.

The conflicting information finally was sorted out, and everyone started looking for the same vehicle.

The men were found in a car, where they had spent the night, about 1 this afternoon.

“Both parties are safe and it’s all good to go,” McGinnis said.

Responding agencies included: Garfield County Sheriff’s Office Deputies, Garfield County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Operations Sergeant, Garfield County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue, and Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office.
