DENVER – MONOLITH and AEG Live Rocky Mountains have partnered to co-produce the inaugural MONOLITH Festival at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison on Sept. 14 and 15.

MONOLITH will host over 50 “emerging artists” – from international headliners to unknowns – making this the first music festival of its kind for Colorado, and the only annual “destination” event for music’s legendary Red Rocks Amphitheatre.

MONOLITH Founders Matt Fecher (South Park Music Festival) and Josh Baker (Midwest Music Summit) will co-produce the event with AEG Live. Baker says of the partnership: “AEG Live is one of the greatest producers of events like ours, and their new Denver operation has a lot of enthusiasm for new ideas and projects.”

The vision for MONOLITH was first conceptualized at Fecher’s 2006 South Park Music Festival in South Park, Colorado, when Erik Dyce, Chief Marketing Officer of Denver’s Division of Theatres and Arenas, who owns Red Rocks Amphitheatre, pulled Fecher aside. Dyce explains: “I told Matt, ‘Everyone wants an excuse to come to Colorado to see an epic rock show at Red Rocks. Let’s give it to them!'”U.K. music rebels Editors, English alt-rockers Art Brut, indie dames Au Revoir Simone, Brooklyn pop duo Matt & Kim, fascinating blues man William Elliott Whitmore, Seattle’s Rocky Votolato, piano folkster Vienna Teng, Avail’s frontman Tim Barry, experimental core pop group De Novo Dahl, Chicago singer/songwriter Cameron McGill and kinetic rock band Mason Proper have been added to the MONOLITH festival’s already stellar lineup. They join The Flaming Lips, CAKE, The Decemberists, Kings of Leon, Spoon, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Ghostland Observatory, Brian Jonestown Massacre, Flosstradamus, Kid Sister, Cloud Cult, Earl Greyhound, Das EFX, The Broken West, Yacht, Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band, Bob Log III, Lords of the Underground, Mobius Band, Ra Ra Riot, Minus Story, and Otis Gibbs. Additional artists to be announced.Tickets for the festival are on sale now at all Ticketmaster outlets and
