Monthly support group for caregivers
Vail CO, Colorado
More than 50 million people nationwide provide care or personal assistance to a family member or friend who is elderly, disabled, or chronically ill. Managing emotional and physical stress and balancing work and other responsibilities become significant challenges for the caregiver even in the best of circumstances.
A monthly support and educational group is being held at the Golden Eagle Community Center at 715 Broadway in Eagle on the third Tuesday of each month from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The group’s next meeting will be held on April 17, 2007.
The group is intended for people who are providing care for a friend or family member with dementia or other illness requiring ongoing assistance with daily living and will be a combination of sharing and discussion among group participants with information being provided through occasional speakers on topics related to caregiver and care recipient needs.
The group is being facilitated by Doreen Constantine, Adult Services Case Worker with Eagle County Health and Human Services and is open to participants joining at any time. For more information, or to register for participation, please call Doreen at (970) 328-1483.
