Montrose woman denies running down husband
MONTROSE, Colorado ” A Montrose woman accused of running down her husband with a car after an argument has denied it was intentional.
Thirty-two-year-old Sharon Gibson was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of second-degree assault, domestic violence and reckless driving.
She also faces a child abuse charge because her two children were with her.
Police say Gibson made a sharp turn across three lanes of traffic and drove directly toward her husband while he was on a sidewalk. He suffered bruises, cuts and scrapes.
Sharon Gibson told a judge Thursday her children spotted their father and she turned sharply so they could speak to him.
Her husband told the judge he doesn’t believe Gibson hit him deliberately.
Gibson asked to be released on a recognizance bond but the judge set bail at $2,500.
