Moos and Brews BBQ & Beer Festival set for Friday, Saturday

EAGLE , Colorado – The Moos and Brews BBQ & Beer Festival announced its lineup of barbecue teams and microbrews for the first event. This event, set for Friday and Saturday, will officially kick off the 70th annual Eagle Fair and Rodeo. The event kicks off on Friday from 5 to 9 p.m. and will continue from noon to 6 p.m. on Saturday. The full schedule is available online at official Kansas City-sanctioned barbecue event is being coordinated by Arlie Bragg from Memphis who has run more than 35 barbecue contests across the country. Moos and Brews will have more than 20 different barbecue teams including: Mike Bratton and the Wild Hogs, Rock Meyers and the Coyote Cave Barbeque, Anthony Ripples and the Montrose Big Johnson’s Smokin BBQ, Mark Welte and the Carcass Cookers and Bob Oldfield and the Burnin Bob’s Butts and Bones. Cooking kicks off at 5 p.m. on Friday and runs through the night. Over 22 judges will be on hand to pick the award winning chicken, pork ribs, pork shoulder and brisket on Saturday starting at noon. For just $12 you will receive a commemorative mug and samplings of microbrews including: New Belgium 1554, Sam Adams Summer, Blue Moon, Alaskan Amber, Alaskan Oatmeal Stout, Palisade Red Truck, Tommy Knocker Maple Nut, Flying Dog Old Scratch, Oskar Blues Dale’s Pale Ale and Boulder Beer’s Buffalo Gold.”We know people will love the variety of microbrews and will want to try them all, which is why we are offering transportation within Eagle County so people don’t have to drive,” said Holli Snyder, sales director for NRC Broadcasting. the event co-sponsor. Turtle tubing will pick people up at the Vail Transportation Center, in Avon at Loaded Joes, in Edwards at Woody’s Bar and Grill in Riverwalk, in Eagle Ranch at The Dusty Boot and in Gypsum at Stop n Save. Rides are just $3 and beverages will be available.
