‘Moos and Brews’ kicks off Eagle County fair

EAGLE, Colorado – The first annual Moos and Brews BBQ & Beer Festival July 24 and 25 will kick off this year’s Eagle County Fair and Rodeo, the event’s 70th year. Moos and Brews includes food, drink and music and runs from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on July 24 and noon to 6 p.m. on July 25 at the Eagle County Fairgrounds. Moos and Brews BBQ & Beer Fest will feature over 18 different national BBQ teams from Colorado, Idaho, Arizona and Kansas and Utah. There will be 10 different microbrews from around the state and beyond. Tickets are $5 for entry and $12 for a commemorative beer mug and samplings from the different microbrews. Tickets are available in advance at Stop n Save in Newcastle, Leadville Edwards, Gypsum and West Vail. All Alpine Bank locations will carry tickets and they will also be available at the door.Music includes The Williams Brothers on July 24 form 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., followed by TNT, an AC/DC cover band. On July 25, The Digger Trends will play from noon to 1:30 p.m., followed by Hillbilly Hellcats and then TNT will perform again from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.”We have been working hard all year to make this an official Kansas City sanctioned event, but we are now part of the Rocky Mountain cup, so expect some serious competition and great food,” says Holli Snyder, sales director for NRC Broadcasting. “The names of the Judges and the competing teams will be announced in the next few weeks. This year’s event will feature a pro rodeo and the Rocky Mountain Horse Expo offering a variety of clinics, seminars, team penning and ranch rodeo for horse owners. This year’s fair will feature the Bill Hames Show carnival, free entertainment, children’s activities, 4-H competition and the junior livestock sale.
