Morning flight takes off after Eagle County airport jet mishap
Eagle County, CO Colorado
EAGLE COUNTY, Colorado –The United flight that was supposed to be canceled from Eagle County Regional Airport to Denver this morning, was not canceled. The runway was closed Tuesday when the landing gear of a U.S. Coast Guard jet collapsed and sent the plane skidding down the runway.
United sent an empty plane from Denver to Eagle to pick up passengers booked on the flight.
A total of 38 people were booked on the United flight last night from Denver to Eagle County Regional Airport. Sixteen of those people took the airport up on their offer to pay for the Colorado Mountain Express to transport them to Eagle County. One man found out about the offer after he had already paid for himself. The airport reimbursed the man.
