Motor goes missing in Eagle

Eagle Valley Enterprise staff report
Eagle, CO Colorado

EAGLE, Colorado ” Eagle police received an anonymous tip last week about an unusual theft ” a motorboat motor.

According to the Eagle Police report, the boat was parked along Chambers Avenue when the anonymous caller reported watching thieves place the motor in their car and drive away. The caller then strolled by the area and found a cell phone laying in the street.

The caller took the phone to a nearby business and then called the cops.

Police contacted the boat owner to make sure he hadn’t removed the motor. He hadn’t, and confirmed someone had stolen it. Officers then attempted to find the cell phone’s owner.

They tracked the cell phone to a Parachute man who said the phone was stolen from a Clifton fast food restaurant earlier that evening. The man said he was no where near Eagle at the time of the motor theft and provided a gasoline purchase receipt to back up his story.
