Mountain Quest and Alpine Kayak merge
EDWARDS – Alpine Kayak and Mountain Quest Sports have merged and are now called Alpine Quest Sports.The new store is in the Mountain Quest space in Edwards near Freshies Natural Foods Market. Alpine Kayak will close its Avon store. It will run its kayak school out of the new Edwards store.
There will be a grand re-opening at 6 p.m. Friday, when the price of everything in the store will be 10 percent off. They will stay open until 10 p.m.Besides selling kayak equipment and offering instruction, the store sells equipment for ice climbing, telemark skiing and backcountry skiing.”You won’t have the two different stores butting heads together,” said Sean Glackin, owner of Alpine Quest Sports. “We can work as one and concentrate on helping customers best.”
Alpine Kayak bought Mountain Quest Sports to precipitate the merger, Glackin said.
